Motor trade sales manager is a position that involves being in charge of a team of sales people. The sales manager is responsible for training staff members, setting goals for the sales team, and making sure that the sales team is operating at peak potential.

Sales managers must set goals for the sales tem to meet each month that exceed the previous month’s sales.
The sales manager is in charge of the entire sales staff and they must make sure that they are properly trained. Training s a must since new car models are coming off the line constantly. Keeping your sales team up to date with information about the vehicles they are selling is highly important.
Sales managers have a huge obligation due to the fact that selling is a major part of a dealership. Vehicle sales are the main source of money and it is the sales manager’s responsibility to make sure that cars are being sold. The sales manager has the ability to set the price of the cars that their team is trying to sell.
Motor trade sales managers can make or break a sell. They take in all the information that the salesman tells them into account to come up with the lowest price they can sell the car at. Most dealerships the salesman cannot make a sale without the approval of the sales manager. It is important that the sales manager can think quickly because time wasted is a sale lost.
Sales managers in the motor trade can be an exciting career for someone that is organized and has great communication skills. They have to be leaders of a team and make sure that team is meeting all required objectives. This career can make a sales manager a very nice salary. There is opportunity for advancement in this field if the individual works hard and has the people he/she manages work even harder.
